African Cup of Nations 2017: Raouraoua warns Leekens against second failure
The President of the Algerian Football Federation Mohamed Raouraoua talked to Algeria coach Georges Leekens in Franceville about Thursday’s match against Tunisia, Echorouk has learnt.
Raouraoua relies a lot on the game to win and enhance the national team’s chances to qualify to the second round. If Algeria wins, a draw against Senegal would likely be sufficient to qualify.
According to the same sources, Raouraoua warned Leekens against a second consecutive failure. He even rejects a draw.
The FAF’s President also stressed the necessity of showing a different performance. The Algerian players’ performance against Zimbabwe was not brilliant.
The same sources said Leekens told Raouraoua some players did not respect his instructions during the first match.
This shows that Leekens is under a big pressure and he is asked to win if he wants Raouraoua and Algerians to be convinced in him.
