African Cup of Nations: Algeria’s players fly to Gabon

Algeria football team will fly to Gabon on Thursday to participate in the African Cup of Nations finals. The players finished their 10-day-preparation at the Sidi Moussa Technical Centre in Algiers. They had played two friendly matches beating Mauritania (3-1) and (6-0) consecutively.

The Air Algerie plane which will carry the players to Franceville is expected to take off at around noon. The games of the second group of the first round will be played in this city. The trip will last for almost six hours.

Echorouk has learnt that the Algerian official delegation includes 54 members including 23 players along with the technical and medical staff’s members and accompaniers. Other individuals went to Gabon earlier to organize the players’ stay.

The president of the Algerian Football Federation Mohamed Raouraoua will receive the team at the airport. He went to Gabon earlier to attend meetings and the 2019 Total Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers’ draw which will be conducted on Thursday.

The Algerian team will open the competition on January 15th. Their first match will be played against Zimbabwe before playing against Tunisia on January 19th. The third match will be played against Senegal on January 23rd.
