According to the UGCAA spokesman, the 2011 meat imports by Algeria have exceeded 250 million dollars and he pointed to the imperious necessity for the public authorities to shore up sheep and cattle breeding through incentive measures in favour of breeders in order to curtail the colossal expenses devoted to annual meat imports.
