Aid El Fitr clothes rise, once again, after the wave of increases in the various goods like vegetables, fruits and foodstuffs, and this time, the clothes’ price are very expensive compared to the prices before Ramadan, especially kids’ clothes which emptied the pockets of parents, and the price of kids’ clothes double compared to adults clothes.

During Echorouk tour in Algiers shops, we found the same goods similar and repeated from place to another, as dresses with flowers and shapes reached the price of 600 and 850 DZD, while the shorts reach 3,600 DZD, and the same price for skirts, and shirts of different kinds reach between 2,500 to 3,000 DZD.

We were very surprised when we visited shops that sell kids clothes, and the words “cuts” and “soled” attracted us, we entered and found the dresses for girls at price ranging between 4,800 dinars and 8,500 DZD. The owner confirmed that the prices vary depending on the quality of the dress, there are Turkish dresses that are less expensive than English and Italian. While boys’ clothes are lower as shirts’ price is 3,200 DZD, trousers’ price is 3,700 DZD.

The same price rises in the prices of shoes, as girls’ sandales reach 2,600 DZD and boys sandales differ according to quality starting from 2,200 DZD, which are the same prices that we found in most stores.

During our conversation with the owner of the shop, he justified the high cost of the good quality, he said they are Turkish and are not traded on a large scale. When we asked about the small size, he said they are all sold, as the majority of citizens bought them before Ramadan to avoid the usual increases, adding that the goods were sold out and there is no new clothes.
