Al Jazeera’s Sami Hajj visits Algeria
Al Jazeera’s cameraman Sami Hajj paid his first visit to Algeria upon invitation from Algeria’s top selling daily newspaper Echorouk.

Sami Hajj expressed his delight for visiting Algeria which he hoped since he was released from Guantanamo.

Echorouk inaugurated a campaign for one million signatures for his release. “I loved Algeria and its people through the newspaper which I read at Guantanamo,” he said.

Sami Hajj who was received by Chief Editor Mohamed Yakoubi and Deputy Chief Editor Mustapha Ferhat was accompanied by Doctor Fawzi Oussedik who arranged this visit.

Echorouk will honour the cameraman. He is expected to hold a conference on Sunday for lawyers and journalists to talk about his experience in Guantanamo.
