Alegria threatened by 10 natural disasters

Professor Abdelkrime Chelghoum, president of the club of major risks, warned, in phone call with Echorouk, Algerians living in country sides and mountains as well as the interior cities from the spread of fires in the forests.

  • The spokesman said the rising of temperatures is due to the fires that are devouring hectares of forests, where fire-fighters found difficulties to stop them.
  • The spokesman said the Algerians are breathing toxic air because of these fires, adding that the high temperatures are unnatural and have nothing to do with climate.
  • He also called on the authorities to the need to call upon the inhabitants of the rural areas and villages to leave their homes fearing the fires could surround them.
  • The professor Abdelkrime Chelghoum said the department of forest is responsible for all that, because the forests were exploited anarchically and now they are just desert areas, warning that continuing a wave of fires could reflect badly and negatively on the environment and health of the citizens, calling the authorities to the need to intervene and stop the fires through preparing a good strategy for that purpose like the European countries.
  • In another context, the spokesman said Algeria was classified in the list of the countries threatened by 10 natural disasters, including the fires which may turn to a real catastrophe that threatens the security and safety of the citizens.
