Alfa Motors: First Company For Installing Chinese Trucks “FAW” To Be Launched Western Algeria
“Alfa Motors Algeria” announced the launch of its plant’s works that is specialized in manufacturing utilitarian cars “FAW” at the beginning of August in the industrial area of Tlemcen province, Western Algeria.
According to the company representatives, the investment is 100% Algerian, and is working on the cars’ installation, as the framing process is conducted by the Chinese party.
Production capacity of the plant is 300 cars a month as an initial phase, and will provide at least 200 direct jobs, that is expected to increase in the second year to 8000 and 10.000 cars in the coming years.
According to operators of the project, its works are expected to end in a matter of 24 months, and it will launch its production in 2018.
The factory produces at first two models of utilitarian cars which are “T80” and “V80”, as the first will be sold with 138 million centimes and the second at a price of 157 million centimes, and 10% of the production will be allocated for cars that use the natural gas, as stipulated in the conditions’ book, noting that 10% of the spare parts will be made in Algeria, after the first year, expecting to reach 40% during the first five years.
General Manager of the company “Sarl Alpha Motors Algeria”, Tchouar Mourad, will visit China in the next few days, in order to sign a cooperation contract for the framing and training of dozens of Algerian engineers in China.
Alfa Motors expressed its thanks to the remarkable response by the Industry Ministry and local authorities of Telemcen (western Algeria), which dealt positively with the file to realize the investment on the ground.
