Algeria 1- Senegal 0: The “Greens” Qualify For The Africa Cup 2nd Round Of Group Stage
The Algerian national team qualified Thursday evening for the final round of the Africa Cup of Nations Egypt 2019, after its second consecutive victory.
The Greens won the second round of the CAN 2019 group stage with one goal against Senegal.
Cairo’s “June 30” Stadium hosted this game, under the rule of the Zambian international football referee, Janny Sikazwe.
The victory’s goal of the Algerian national team was scored by the attacking midfielder, Youcef Belaili in the 49th minute.
Algeria National team’s coach, Djamal Belmadi, used in the match against Senegal the same formation that played against Kenya, and seemed very successful.
Algeria Desert Warriors offered more positive performances than their counterparts in the Teranga Lions, which culminated in a second win and qualified for the continental football cup’s quarterfinals.
In another match for the same third group, Kenya competed with Tanzania on Thursday night (at 9:00 am Algeria timing).
Accordingly, the agenda of the arrangement is temporarily formed as follows: Algeria is in the lead with six points and Senegal is second with three points, followed by Kenya and Tanzania with zero points, with Kenya and Tanzania missing a late game.
In the third round of the Group Stage on Monday evening, the Algerian national team will play against Tanzania, and Senegal will compete with the Kenyan rival.
Previously, the Algerian national team is qualified to the quarterfinals, even if it will lose against Tanzania, and even if this team will win against Kenya, and in case of Senegal’s victory in the third round as well, because the Greens will close the curtain with 6 points with Senegal and Tanzania, and there is no way for the five other teams to take in the third place with the same points.
The lead and the runner-up of each team qualify for the quarterfinals of the Africa Nations Cup, and four teams – out of six teams – will play for the third-best team.
Algeria is the third team to attend the quarterfinals in the Africa Cup of Nations 2019, after Nigeria and Egypt.
