Algeria: 15 minutes only to complete customs procedures in ships

Customs General Department started applying new procedures for passengers on sea borders. Marine teams are in charge of completing all the customs procedures inside ships. Because of that, transit operation will last for 15 minutes only.

The new regional director of the Algiers Port customs Zubeir Alaoui said the team started operating on Sunday. Customs launched a new strategy to improve services and make procedures easier.

He added that the marine teams will handle all the customs procedures starting from registration until keeping watch on luggage.

“The emergency corridor has been reactivated for ill passengers. Currency declaration cards will be distributed by customs agents,” he told Echorouk.
