Abdelmadjid Sidi Said has been re-elected at the post of secretary general of the General Union of the Algerian Workers by an overwhelming majority of votes at the closing session of the 11th UGTA Congress which wound up Monday in Algiers .
However, the election of a deputy secretary general and the national secretary of the UGTA has been put off until April 9 to allow for more consultations on the matter.
The closing session of the congress was also marked by the presentation of the new composition of the national executive commission and the endorsement of its 281 members by the delegates in attendance.
