Algerian government allocated some 1,900 million dinars to boost development in the southern town of Berriane after it had witnessed violent inter-community clashes over the past year.

Algerian Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia gave instructions to finance minister Abdelkarim Djoudi to allocate 1,900 million dinars and introduce the package in the additional finance law, Echorouk has learnt.

A security commission of high ranking police officers led by police national chief Ali Tounsi is investigating the recent Beriane events.
