Algeria allocates emergency money to angry people in south
The government will use the complementary finance draft law to cover new expenses including measures in favor of jobless people in southern Algeria. The draft bill will include a budget allocated to the event of Constantine, the Arab Culture’s Capital 2015 and advantages to encourage investments, according to finance minister Karim Djoudi.
The government has not decided yet in the value of the additional budget to the south. “If there is a need for additional loans to handle the south program, the government will do that,” Djoudi told a national radio channel.
He added that “urgent matters” are behind the complementary finance draft law.
He also said the fight against corruption will touch all suspects without exception. “Any involved senior executive will be prosecuted and punished.”
Speaking about salaries budget, Djoudi said it was estimated at $34 billion this year. Financial transfers value was $17 billion. “The government wants to ensure a relative stability in management expenses so that the budget will be limited and the government will be able to face inflation rate.”
Asked about a possible revision of the tax on general income, the minister said public authorities have to make more expenses and get fewer incomes. “We can not talk about reduction of tax on general income while the annual tax exemption is estimated at 450 billion DZ.”
