Algerian authorities chose to respond to the rumor of the death of President, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, through its ambassadors in Lebanon and Iran.

Algeria’s ambassador in Lebanon, Ahmed Bouziane, asserted on Saturday that President Bouteflika enjoys good health and that the news about his death are tendentious.

Bouziane told the Lebanese website “Al Nashra” that President Bouteflika enjoys good health, denying all the reports about his death, adding that this news is trying to disturb the security and stability of the country, saying, “They are jealous of Algeria because of its security and stability in light of what is happening on the level region and the world”.

For his part, the Algerian ambassador in Iran refuted the reports that are circulating about the death of President, Abdelaziz Bouteflika.

Abdel Moneim Ahriz explained in comments that were carried by the Iranian Mehr News Agency, on Saturday, that the news which were circulating about the death of Bouteflika are just rumors.

“Similar reports that were circulating over the past months are false. There is a need to avoid publishing such news unless they are sure  they are correct”.

Algerian ambassador asserted that the news about the death of Bouteflika were circulating on the social media “Twitter” first, and then the foreign media without verifying their authenticity.
