Algeria and Niger extol “brotherhood, solidarity and cooperation relations” between the two countries

Prime Minister Nadir Arbaoui and Niger’s Minister of Petroleum Sahabi Amarou praised the brotherhood, solidarity and cooperation relations between Algeria and Niger.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s office, Mr Arbaoui received, on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, a delegation from the Republic of Niger, led by the Niger Minister of Petroleum who is on a working visit to Algeria.

The talks between  Arbaoui and Niger Minister Amarou addressed “the current regional situation, especially in the Sahel region, where the two parties praised the brotherhood, solidarity and cooperation relations between the two brotherly countries, which are witnessing a distinguished movement thanks to the special care given by the leaders of the two countries to the continuous strengthening of the historical bilateral relations that link the two brotherly countries.”

In the field of bilateral cooperation between Algeria and Niger, “the Nigerien minister expressed his great satisfaction with the results of his visit, which comes after the visit of the Niger Prime Minister, Mr. Ali Mohamed Lamine Zein, to Algeria last August, noting the quality of the talks he held with Algerian officials with the aim of strengthening cooperation relations between the two countries, especially in the field of the hydrocarbons sector, and in particular the start of the implementation of the “Kafra” project after completing the identification of the relevant plans and work programs, in addition to building capacities through training and benefiting from the Algerian experience in the hydrocarbons sector, especially in the field of oil refining.” Official in the Nigerian Ministry of Oil: The Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline is a great opportunity for Niger

Prime Minister  Nadir Arbaoui and Niger’s Minister of Petroleum Sahabi Amarou also touched upon, during the talks held in the presence of the Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, “the importance of the Trans-Saharan Tripartite Gas Pipeline project, emphasizing its strategic nature and its important role in enhancing integration and integration in the region, and the need to continue coordination meetings to accelerate the pace of its implementation, with an agreement to hold the tripartite meeting in Algeria before the end of this year in coordination with all parties concerned.”
