Algeria beats Mali 1-0: Desert Foxes give hope again
Rafik Helliche’s goal gave World Cup qualifier Algeria a 1-0 victory over Mali Thursday giving it hopes of reaching the quarter-finals in the African Cup of Nations alive.
- The goal was scored in the 43rd minute as Mali stopper Mahamadou Sidibe gave to Halliche a good opportunity to score the goal.
- Earlier on Monday, Algeria was beaten by Malawi causing a shock among the Algerian media and population. Now, it joined Malawi at the top of Group A of the African Cup with three points. Mali will have to defeat Malawi to have a chance of reaching the last eight in Angola.
