Algeria captain Yazid Mansouri : « Brunley move close »

English club Brunley close to signing Algeria’s international and captain Yazid Mansouri in a cut-price £ 1 million deal. 

• The 31-year-old midfielder, who palys for French club Lorient, has held talks with Brunley officials.
• Mansouri, who spent a season at Coventry six years ago, is due to lead Algeria at the Africa Cup of Nations next month and will also face England at the World Cup finals in South Africa summer 2010.
• « I have had discussions with Brunley’s directors and all that remain is for the two clubs to agree a deal. », he said.
• « All should be decided in the coming days, but we are on the right track. I want to play in England, their league is one of the best in the world, and it suits my style of play ».
• « I will leave for Brunley with pleasure if a deal falls into place. Premier League games are palyed before packed stadiums with amazing atmospheres, and anybody would love to play there. »
• « Lorient have not met my salary demands, and so I am entitled to seek a change of scene with just six months left on my contract ».
• Algeria’s international Mansouri has won 58 caps, and also played for Le Havre and Chateauroux before joining Lorient in 2006.
