Algeria confirms seven new swine flu cases

Seven new cases of the A/H1N1 flu virus were confirmed in the province of Ain Timouchent (west of Algiers), Pasteur Institute said Thursday.

  • The virus hit three school boys, a 18-year-old girl and three women.
  •  
  • Chief of prevention section at the health department in Ain Timouchent said the confirmed cases are under medical supervision.

  • Echorouk learnt that doctors have doubts on the case of a 8-year-old girl thought to be hit by the virus in the same province. She is in a hospital under medical supervision pending for laboratory results within the next few hours.

  • Health department conducted a pandemic investigation in the environment of the hit people as a preventive measure against contamination among schools.
  •  
  • Personal hygiene remains the most important factor to reduce contamination especially that Ain Timouchent is not safe from this pandemic risk.
