Formal statistics, available at Echorouk, reveal that the number of pupils in the private schools reached 20.000, distributed in 119 private schools, including 78 schools only in Algiers, then Tizi Ouzou, east of Algeria with 9 schools, where parents pay between 14.000 and 20.000 dinars per month, depending on the different educational levels.

  • The spread of the private schools in Algeria noticed an increasing situation, as Algiers noticed the largest proliferation of the private schools with over 78 schools, followed by Tizi Ouzou with 9 schools, then Annaba with 7 schools, Constantine 5 schools, Bejaia 4 schools and 3 schools in Blida, while there are 2 schools in Jijel.
  • A large part of the pupils enrolled in the private schools were expelled from the public schools, as their parents resorted to the private schools.
