Algeria counts 19 cases of swine flu

Cases of H1N1 virus increased to 19 cases in Algeria, after recording three new cases in an Algerian couple coming from Spain and an Algerian youngster coming from England, despite the installation of 55 thermal cameras by the authorities in the various ports and airports, and border posts as well.

• The reference laboratory of the Institute of Pasteur confirms that the results of analysis for the Algerian couple, who came from Spain last weekend, proved they are infected with H1N1 virus, after doubts of being infected with the pandemic as soon as they return back to Algeria, following the onset of symptoms.

• The Algerian couples, woman 39 and a man in the forties, were isolated in the health isolation room at Algiers hospital.

• Health and Population Ministry recorded Wednesday, a 42 YEAR Algerian, coming from the United Kingdom, infected with swine flu, bringing the total number of H1N1 cases to 19 confirmed cases out of over 1000 suspected cases of people under health surveillance, most of them left the isolation rooms.

• The same ministry opens an epidemiology investigation immediately after recording new cases of swine flu in relatives and family numbers of people infected with H1N1 virus, and decided to put them under medical control and depth laboratory analysis in order to make sure they are not infected with the pandemic, as well as among the passengers who accompanied them during the flight on board of the same plane, in coordination with the services of border control.
