Algeria: deadline expires for SIM cards registration

Mobile phone operators’ customers in Algeria have entered a race for settling their SIM cards and getting a contract for that.

Mobile phone operators’ customers in Algeria have entered a race for settling their SIM cards and getting a contract for that.

According to post and telecommunication department, a total of 3 million phone lines are unidentified and not registered.

Most of people who queued on Sunday at services centre of different operators do not know that the deadline expires on Monday.

 Starting from April 1st, unidentified SIM cards will be deleted but most of customers are hold on their phone numbers and do not want to change them.

Service centres have been receiving customers for a month from 8 a.m to 8 p.m.

 The operators had sent SMS to their customers to ask them to settle their situations but most of them waited till the last minute.
