Algeria football squad register thin victory over the Libyan side

The local players’ Algerian national squad have yesterday defeated at kolea stadium (Algiers outskirts) the Libyan side 1-0 in the away match counting for the African Championships due to take place in Sudan in 2011.

  •
  •  The first half of the match didn’t live up to the fans’ expectations as the Algerian players couldn’t materialize the few attempts to reach the adversary’s goal on account of a good defensive strategy applied by the Libyans.
  •
  • Apart from three clear attempts through Hadj Aissa and Bougheche, the Algerian players didn’t really destabilize the Libyan defence led by the Maestro and former JS Kabylie defender Omar Doud.
  •
  • The second half saw a quasi- full domination of the Algerian players over their rivals and was materialized by a the unique goal of the match scored by the seasoned forward Ghezali at the second minute after receiving a ball from Bougueche and found himself face to face with goalkeeper.
  •
  • The Algerian players tried to score other goals all along the remaining period in a move to increase their advantage ahead of the return match in Libya but to no avail because of a lack of effectiveness in front of the opposing goal.
  •
  • The presence of the Head coach Rabah Saadane in the stadium was a double-edged razor for the players who wanted to make a good showing in front of him but affected their overall performance.
