Algeria gas leak blast kills three

Three people were killed and another 12 injured by a gas leak which caused an explosion in an apartment block in eastern Algeria, the Algerian agency APS reported Sunday.

• Civil protection authorities said the blast happened around 11 pm (2200 GMT) Saturday in Skikda, 500 kilometres (300 miles) from the capital Algiers.
• The three dead were a man and two women, all members of the same family, public radio Chaine III reported.
