Algeria-India: “Agreement to shore up investments and trade exchanges”

President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, agreed with his Indian counterpart Droupadi Murmu to boost investment and trade exchanges between Algeria and India.

Speaking During a joint press statement, the President of the Republic confirmed that he and his Indian counterpart held intensive discussions during which they discussed bilateral cooperation and prospects for its development, in addition to current regional and international issues of common concern.

The President of the Republic Mr Abdelmadjid Tebboune explained that the focus will be on preparing for the next session of the Joint Committee for Cooperation and Political Consultation, as well as meeting businessmen in a way that serves efforts to shore up bilateral relations.

President Tebboune pointed out that the Middle East file, with all its dimensions and repercussions, was at the heart of the discussions, especially the aggression on the Gaza Strip and southern Lebanon and the serious repercussions that followed on the region and the world.

In this context, the President of the Republic reiterated the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state, and adherence to agreement on respecting the outcomes of the Security Council regarding the Sahrawi issue was also confirmed.

The President also stressed that there was a convergence of views, and accordingly, it was agreed to continue efforts for peace and stability in the Middle East region and various other regions of the world.

In this context, the President of the Republic stated that that consultations between Algeria and India will be restored as two active countries in the Non-Aligned Movement.
