Algeria is beyond the reach of Europe’s blackmail and the latter will not achieve any goal

The head of the National Liberation Front (FLN) parliamentary bloc in the lower chamber of Parliament, Mr. Nasser Boutiche, asserted that the European Parliament’s regulation on Algeria clearly reveals the hostility rooted in the thinking of some political currents within Europe, led by the French far-right.
This current still sees Algeria’s independence and sovereignty as a direct challenge to its old colonial ambitions and fantasies, said the FLN MP, stressing that the regulation comes in a repeated context targeting our country and is nothing but desperate attempts to recycle a pressure rhetoric that has long lost its meaning and impact, especially since its owners are fully aware that Algeria is a country resistant to blackmail and that pressuring it will not achieve any goal, no matter how hard they try, he said.
This is not the first time that the European Parliament is trying to influence Algeria by playing the human rights and freedoms card, as it previously issued a similar regulation in 2019, during the blessed popular movement, in an attempt to sow doubts and weaken internal popular cohesion, Mr. Boutiche told “Echorouk”.
However, it failed miserably, as the Algerian people confronted it with rare political awareness and a unified will, which led to its downfall and burial in the garbage of history.
Ironically, Mr. Boutiche added, members of the European Parliament, who claim to defend human values and human rights, have always found nothing to blackmail Algeria with other than this dossier, in blatant disregard of the grave violations and unforgivable crimes taking place in the world.
The most prominent example of this blatant contradiction is their absolute silence on the ongoing tragedy in Gaza, where for more than 15 months, the Palestinian people have been subjected to one of the most horrific crimes in modern history, but these so-called rights and freedoms claimants did not lift a finger to the scenes of bombing, annihilation and displacement, which makes their claims today the object of ridicule and contempt, and clearly highlights the double standards that govern their political and media discourse.
On the other hand, Mr. Boutiche underlined that Algeria, with its history of anti-colonial struggle and its firm and principled positions towards just causes in the world, has proven time and time again that it is capable of facing these attempts and confronting them firmly and steadfastly.
No matter how many attempts to distort or provoke, Algeria, with its leadership and people, will remain true to its principles, unbreakable and inspiring to peoples seeking freedom and dignity, he said.
In this context, it is important for those behind these lists to realize that Algeria is not alone in this field, but is supported by a strong popular cohesion and international partners who respect its sovereignty and recognize the importance of its role in achieving regional and international stability.
The Algerian people, who have gone through many experiences that have refined them and made them more aware and wise, will not be fooled by such attempts aimed at disrupting their development and sovereignty, Mr. Boutiche added.
The head of the FLN bloc concluded by emphasizing that this list is only a new episode in a long series of futile attempts that will fail, just as their predecessors failed, and Algeria will remain an example of a free state that refuses to submit to any form of tutelage or foreign pressure.
History alone will judge the fate of these policies, which will only lead to further moral and political degradation of their owners, the source said.
