Algeria Is Committed To Fighting Terrorism, Drugs And Human Trafficking
Algeria renewed its determination in Vienna to continue its vigorous fight against terrorism, extremism, radicalism, transnational organized crime, drug and human trafficking.
In his intervention during the 24th session of the OSCE’s Ministerial Council that was held on Thursday and Friday, the Algerian delegation led by Fouzia Mebarki, Ambassador of Algeria to Vienna, reiterated “Algeria’s determination and commitment to intensify dialogue and strengthen cooperation between the OSCE and the countries of the cooperation partners in the Mediterranean region based on confidence”.
Algeria also affirmed its determination to “continue to counter terrorism, extremism and radicalism, transnational organized crime, drug and human trafficking, which are interrelated and feeding from each other”, confirming that they addressed the causes of these scourges, thus contributing to stability in the region”.
On the other hand, the Algerian delegation took this opportunity to reaffirm the “great concern” of Algeria regarding the American administration’s decision to recognize Al-Quds Al-Sharif as the capital of Israel and warned the participants against the consequences of this violation of the stalled peace process and serious threats to peace, security and stability of a sensitive region that is already suffering from the scourge of wars”.
The 24th session of the Council of Ministers of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) concluded its work after two days of discussions on ways to resolve conflicts and confront threats to Member States such as terrorism, transnational organized crime, drug trafficking, illegal immigration and human trafficking as well.
Many delegations confirmed the need for greater involvement of the countries of the Mediterranean cooperation partners in the work of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in order to deal with the challenges in an “effective and sustainable” manner.
