Algeria is great nation thanks to colonization “achievements”

The President of the Regional Council of Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Christian Estrosi Wednesday said Algeria has become a great nation thanks to the colonization. “Roads, universities and city plans like Oran and Algiers were built by the colonization.”

“Algeria has become a great country thanks to France which built streets, roads and universities. Great architects designed cities like Oran and Algiers,” Estrosi told a TV channel.

This came as he had been asked about his position towards the remarks of Emmanuel Macron who described colonization as a “crime against humanity.”

Estrosi described Marcon’s remarks as a “big mistake.” 

“Where is the barbarity of colonization? France went to Algeria to spread civilization there,” he said.

A few days ago, Estrosi posted a release about Algeria’s refusal to import Alpes apples. A large controversy was raised.

He called on the French government to put pressure on Algerian authorities to buy 20,000 tons of apples.
