Algeria launches first e-payment services

Banks which applied for e-payment will receive first licences to enable people to pay using computers or mobile phones.

CEO of the Algerian National Bank Achour Aboud Wednesday said the first e-payment services will be launched in the next few days. In the beginning, services will be limited in paying electricity and gas invoices via the Internet (e-payment) or mobile phones (mobi-payment).

The e-payment will be done in two aspects. The first one will be carried out via banking or postal cards. The second will be done via the Internet.
