Candidates for the Baccalaureate exams decided to stop their protests starting from Sunday as the Algerian education ministry met their demands about Spring holidays, second trimester exams and missed courses.
The pupils have been protesting for five days. A small number of announced that they will continue taking to the street until the ministry issues the “courses limit document.”
This comes as teachers had been on strike for four weeks. The ministry decided not to ban Spring holidays, cancel second trimester exams and catch up missed lessons.
The ministry said it could not announce lessons limit until April 30th.
