Algeria military tribunal to decide in 310,000 Euro theft case

A theft case of about 310,000 euros in which four gendarmes are involved has been transferred to a military tribunal in the province of Constantine (east of Algiers), Echorouk has learnt.

• Earlier, a tradesman living in the area of Mila (east of Algiers) had filed a complaint to the National Gendarmerie against four gendarmes for allegedly stealing his money from his car.
• The National Gendarmerie assigned an investigation commission and found out that the theft was carried out in collaboration with a well-known tradesman in the area.
• The four gendarmes were arrested and appeared before the military tribunal. The examining judge ordered to remand them in custody pending the trial.
• The tradesman who lodged the complaint was jailed pending the completion of the ongoing investigation for violating the law concerning money spending.
