Algeria : minimal wage to move from 12,000 to 15,000 DA

In a declaration to the press, he said that the minimal wage tripled since the year 2000 moving from 4,500 DA to 12,000 DA in 2006 hoping to reach the 15,000 DA before the end of 2008.

M Mourabet went on saying that the Union was, in the past few years, preoccupied by the negotiations with the collective branches and the legislation of the civil service sector , which led them to put aside for a while this dossier, but promised to bring on the table this file at the end of the Union ’s meeting.

In this respect, he added that the next negotiations with the government will focus on the investment and union’s activities inside the private sector as well as foreign work force, health security environment and above all children’s labor in addition to job contracts.

As to the re-election of the head of the Algerian workers’ union, M Mearbet declared that M Sidi Said is most likely going to clinch a second d mandate on top of this institution.
