Algeria mosque launches religious campaign sponsored by Echorouk

A mosque in Algeria will organise a nation-wide campaign of religious, social, sportive and cultural activities sponsored by Echorouk newspaper with the participation of well-known Islamic preachers.

“The city of Annaba (east of Algiers) will be the venue of religious and awareness-raising activities during the next two months under the supervision of the Algerian religious affairs ministry,” said El Ferdous mosque’s imam Nadjib Ennaoui.

“A commission has been set up to make the mosque playing social, educational and cultural roles,” he told Echorouk on Tuesday.

Islamic preacher Cheikh Wadjdi Ghanim is expected to come to Algeria to give lectures in Annaba between April 21 and May 5. He will also visit Echorouk’s headoffice in Algiers as part of the campaign.

A five-day- festival will be organised under the slogan of ‘positivity festival’ on July 5. Preachers Cheikh Mohamed Hassan and Abderbari Atouane will attend the event along with other well-known Islamic figures including Sodaissi, says the campaign coordinator.
