Algeria Sunday accepted to offer $250 million to the Tunisian government as it faces an economic crisis.

Foreign minister Ramtane Lamamra said Algeria may raise the aid value in order to resolve the crisis in Tunisia.

This comes as the Tunisian head of government Mahdi Djomaa paid a visit to Algeria on Sunday. Three conventions about financial cooperation were signed by both countries.

“Algeria and Tunisia are satisfied about security cooperation level between them. Specialized security forces are working on coordination and information exchange every day,” Lamamra told a press conference.

“There is a trust element between Algeria and Tunisia and a conviction about the unique fate,” he added.

“The Algerian-Tunisian cooperation is complementary and is on the right way for its development and diversity in different forms.”

Lamamra also said Tunisian enterprises may join a number of Algerian companies to achieve common projects in infrastructures, building and housing sectors. “This shows a strong will to do that.”
