Algeria Parliament members to discuss prisons law soon
Algeria’s justice minister Tayeb Louh Saturday said Parliament’s legal committee will start discussing a draft law about prisons and ankle monitor.
“The draft law about prisons will be dicussed soon before being passed by the Senate. Ankle monitor system will enable accused people to be outside prison and live a normal life,” said the minister on an inspection visit to a prison in Kolea.
According to Algeria News Agency (APS), Louh said there are two types of ankle monitor. One of them was included in the penal law and will be applied on people under arrest on bail.
The second type is the implementation of a sentence and is part of prisons law. It will be discussed soon. This ankle will enable accused people to be outside prison. Prisons administration will be in charge of keeping watch on them.
