Algeria police chief murderer recovers from coma

The killer of Algeria’s national police chief Choaib Oultache has recovered from injuries since Friday after he had attempted suicide on Thursday, Echorouk has learnt.

  • Investigations with the man on the murder of Ali Tounsi is likely to start on Sunday, said the same sources.
  •
  • Echorouk’s reporter went to Colonel Oualtache’s home in Algiers located about 200 metres from the victim’s house.
  •
  • Policemen were surrounding the house. Neighbours said a large number of personalities and executives come to the killer’s home everyday.
  •
  • They also said his wife goes to visit him at the hospital in Algiers every morning. “He was a kind and generous man,” said a neighbour.
  •
  • “Colonel Ali Tounsi used to visit him with his wife from time to time.”
  •
  • The reporter knocked on Oualtache’s house door as if she was a family member. A policeman opened the door and said the killer’s wife and cousin went to the hospital to visit the patient. “You can come back later or leave a phone number if you want.”
  •
  • Before leaving the place, a police man said staying there and trying to talk to people will make troubles. “I advise you to leave right now.”
