Algeria receives 200 international observers

A total of 200 international observers are following Algeria’s presidential elections due to be held on April 9, foreign minister said on Sunday.

• “The observers came from many international organisations including the Arab League with 87 and the Organisation of the Islamic Conference with 6 observers,” Mourad Medelci told a news conference.
• “Algeria provided the international observers with all necessary means to ensure transparent elections,” he added.
• Six candidates are in competition. They are: the current president Abdelaziz Bouteflika, Moussa Touati, Djaid Younsi, Ali Fawzi Rebaine, Mohamed Said Belaid and Louisa Hanoune.
