Algeria squad coach Saadane visits Echorouk: “We are closer to the 2010 World Cup”

Echorouk was honored by the visit of the coach of the Algerian squad Rabah Saadane 48 hours after the Blida qualifier against Zambia, as the staff of the newspaper shared the joy of winning which brings Algeria nearer to the 2010 World Cup competition

Saadane had a flash back and recalled his memories of the World Cup 86 when he played an important role to reach the World Cup after the impressive results without any loss, however, despite that he received bitter criticism when Algeria lost the game against Spain despite the Algerian squad showed a good performance against Ireland (1-1), and lost the game in the second match against Brazil which recognized the power of Algeria. But the matter that some people tried to burn his house and threaten his family made him sad and he shed tears of the hero who gave many things to his country and won hatred by the criticizers; “I was wronged in 86 despite the good results without any losses in the qualifications. I was unjustly accused and others went to the violent attacks aiming my house and family which is still remembering the incident, that remains one of the most bad memories that made me take the decision to not to return to the Algerian squad, and I moved to Morocco to train Arradja and we won the Cup of the Champion Clubs against MC Oran, as it was the best gift that raised me over all the sadness which I received in Algeria”.

We will defeat Rwanda

Saadane expressed his hope of the possibility to win over Rwanda, saying that it would be different; “Conditions will be different as we will play after Ramadan and the players will have a large number of matches, meaning that they will better equipped in terms of competitiveness”.

Saadane attributed his success in the world of training to three important points which are love for the profession, good training and experience, highlighting the importance of the desire to succeed and win; “ When I was a young I loved my profession very much that’s why I succeeded. My beginning with training of the national squads was in 1975, as I trained juniors in Switzerland and I also received a good training by the years that’s why I gain a large experience which helped me to reach today’s glory. I will try to put my experience in the service of the new generation”.

“We did a long way towards the World Cup, after a good performance until now, and we have to work hard in order to win over Rwanda in the next qualifier in Algeria before we will move to Egypt in the last day of qualification”.
