Algeria to ban Spring holidays for pupils after unlimited strike

The Algerian education minister Abdelatif Baba Ahmed Thursday held a meeting with all the central directors to examine appropriate and urgent solutions for the unlimited strike crisis as 5 weeks of studies left before the Spring holidays, Echorouk has learnt.

Each director gave his opinion about the strike while the ministry and social partners could not reach a final agreement to stop it. Solutions were suggested to solve the crisis.

According to sources, the ministry may cancel the Spring holidays to catch up missed classes and extend the school year until May 20^th.
