“Counterterrorism is not an easy issue and Algeria defeated terrorism. Partners and several countries took Algeria as an example in combating terrorism and extremism has become clear.”
Abdelkader Messahel said this seminar, which is organized under the auspices of the United Nations, will highlight what was done by Algeria in combating terrorism and extremism, pointing to the existence of a large difference between what is experienced by Algeria today and since 15 years ago.
Algeria believes that combating terrorism and extremism should only be with military or security means.
Messahel endeavors the efforts of the President Abdelaziz Bouteflika in this area through the adoption of the civil concord and national reconciliation, and the revision of the development programs and the role of the mosque.
“What is happening in some countries like Libya is caused by the absence of the state. Algeria did best efforts to realize peace and stability in Libya. Algeria was the first country which calls for the formation of a national government with large powers in this country.”
