Figures by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development show that over 40.000 tons of red and frozen meat will enter the Algerian market in the context of maintaining the stability of the prices of meat, because demand would increase during the holy month Ramadan, as well as the national production, estimated at 300.000 tons of red meat and 250.000 of white meat.

• Shops of selling red meat noticed a significant increase after the prices of sheep meat reach between 850 and 900 dinars in some markets, while chicken prices has stabilized between 300 and 320 dinars, and prices of beef meat ranged between 600 and 650 dinars.
• Over 40.000 tons of frozen red meat, with prices between 500 and 550 dinars, will be imported to the Algerian market, as they are widely demanded during Ramadan.
• The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said the Algerian market will be organized through using the frozen meat across many farms in order to meet any speculation by the opportunists.
• On the other hand, trade directorates in many localities put telephone numbers at the service of citizens during Ramadan in order to report on any abuses or blackmail by the traders, either for prices or selling fake materials that are not conform with the international standards.
