Algeria to import one million tons of cement
Cement companies east, west and central Algeria, belonging to the company that runs the state cement contributions JICA, announced on an international bidding to import million tons of cement.

According to the APS, these institutions fixed Friday the day to deposit the offers at Meftah headquarters in Blida, west of Algiers, for next Sunday 20th July.

Hamid Tammar, Minister if Industry and Investment Promotion, had announced last weekend that the government decided to import one million tons of cement in order to meet the large speculative in the Algerian market, and which caused disruption in a number of housing projects.

According to a number of constructors, government resorted to importation of cement because speculation resulted led to a rise in the price of cement exceeding 800 dinars for one bag.
