Algeria to receive 6 “Yak 130†military aircrafts from Russia by 2010
Algeria will receive the first 6 military training aircrafts type Yak 130 in 2010 that are used in war military operations, first deputy of the general manager of Yakolvev Company of design, Nikolai Dolzhinikov.

Spokesman for the company manufacturer of the aircrafts told reporters, according to the Russian News Agency “Novosti” that the delay in manufacturing the military aircrafts for Algeria is due to the changes which were introduced by the office of studies in charge of the military training aircrafts “Yak 130” modern design according to specifications by the Algerian army during the signing of the contract.

Yak 130 was designed in Yakovlev’s design bureau which belongs to “Arcot” company. It characterized by its ability to land and take off from airports that are completely unequipped.

The source said in a statement to “Novosti” that the Yak 130 is used for military operations and training of pilots in order to master their skills including “Su-30” and “Mig-29” and F-16”, which can carry 3 tons of ammunition and weapons, with a maximum power of 2000 km without additional tanks, and a maximum speed of 1000 km/h.

Official at “Aircot” company said its units will supply Algeria with 16 aircrafts of this type, with an increase of two aircrafts compared to the number which was announced during the conclusion of the armament deal between Algeria and Russia during the historical visit of the president Vladimir Putin to Algeria in March 10, 2006.
