Algerian Ahlem Mostaghanemi issues new book in Lebanon

Lebanon issued a new book of Algerian writer Ahlem Mostaghanem untitled ‘Nissiane Com’ as part of Beirut World Book Capital 2009.

  •
  • Thousands of fans attended the ceremony as Ahlem sold more than 15,000 copies of her new book.
  • “I chose to play a linguistic game in my new book. Nissian Com means in Arabic ‘forgetting you,” Ahlem Mostaghanemi told Echorouk on the phone.
  • Beirut has not been seen like that since a long time. It is a real capital of book culture and creativity,” she added.
  • According to Memory in the Flesh’s writer, Lebanese Dar Al Adab signed a contract with an Algerian edition house to circulate around 15,000 copies of her new book in Algeria.
  • Lebanese culture ministry and the municipality of Beirut honoured Ahlem Mostaghanemi as a ‘permanent guest in Lebanon and Beirut.’
