Algerian Army dismantles big fuel smuggling network towards Mali
Forces of the National Popular Army have succeeded in smashing a big fuel trafficking network between Algeria and Mali as part of their regular combing out operations conducted in the southern part of the country and elsewhere.
Well-informed sources told Echorouk that ANP forces in conjunction with border guards and elements of the National Gendarmerie seized on Monday two vehicles, including a four-wheel drive and a lorry and arrested 7 smugglers, 5 of them Algerians and the two others Malians.
The Algerian security forces uncovered large fuel underground depots meant for smuggling activities between Algeria and Mali near the southern locality of Bordj Badji Mokhtar in Adrar province.
These underground depots dismantled by the Algerian combined forces contained about 120 thousand liters of fuel, 55 thousand liters of Benzene and 36 thousand liters of gas-oil, the same sources revealed.
