Algerian authorities will not yield to the terrorists : Party leader says

The National Front Liberation ( FLN) party Secretary General Abdelaziz Belkhadem has asserted that the Algerian authorities will not pay a ransom to the terrorist groups or any other party in exchange of the liberation of the Algerian national abducted last Thursday along with the French citizen in the Sahel region.

He seized this opportunity to announce that his political party will work for spreading its hegemony including the posts held by the other parties that make the presidential coalition.

Taking the floor before journalists in a press conference at the closing proceedings of the first meeting of the newly elected party’s central committee, Abdelaziz Belkhadem has indicated that the Algerian government will not yield to terrorists’ pressures in order to free the Algerian national, adding that this one will be freed and that the French authorities are free to negotiate with terrorists to release their own citizen.

Abdelaziz Belkhadem has slashed at the Western view over several issues linked to peace indicating that the western hatred towards peaceful issues was a logical consequence to the increase of the right extremist ideology, seizing this opportunity to vehemently criticize the self-determination project in the Kabylia region advocated by the political activist Ferhat M’Henni

His Party, he added, was and still facing up to any attempt to threaten the country’s unity expressing concern about this issue whom he believes that some foreign parties are behind it.

Answering to a question concerning an eventual cabinet reshuffle, the Secretary General has replied that this question is part of the Algerian President’s prerogatives but it is on the agenda and it will be either in the short or medium or long term.

As to corruption, Abdelaziz Belkhadem putr it clear that the fight against this phenomenon that undermines the country’s economic stability requires everybody’s efforts and mustn’t be limited to the cabinet’s responsibility.
