Algerian borders with Libya to be re-opened: Official sources
The Algerian authorities ordered its forces in charge of securing the land borders with Libya at Adebdab and Tincom in Illizi (south of Algeria) late Tuesday to reopen the borders again and allow the movement of persons and vehicles under some terms, and resume work across the two points, informed sources told Echorouk.
Echrouk paid a field visit to the Adabdab crossing adjacent to the Libyan crossing Ghadamos where its reporters noticed that cement barriers and barricades that were placed along the road between the center of the city and the border gate have been removed to allow the traffic movement.
According to an official source, the entry to the Algerian soil will be limited only to the Algerian and foreign nationals fleeing from Libya in addition to humanitarian cases and Libyan refugees, while the entry to the Libyan soil is only limited to Libyan nationals wishing to return to their country provided that they have come out from their country in a legitimate way.
Echorouk sources asserted that it was up to the mid-Wednesday; only three Libyans from Al Jaramina Arab enter the Algerian territories after suffering injuries due torture, according to their statements.
Libyan gate had not opened doors to the passengers wishing to enter the Libyan soil and an official at the military council in Ghadamos asserted that the reasons behind the refusal of the LTC to open the borders is not politically motivated, but for administrative reasons including the change of management seals which are still carrying the words “Libyan Arab Republic” the official designation during Kaddafi’s regime. Internet is still cut off from the Libyan border center. A new police officer will be appointed to oversee the management of the crossing, the same spokesman added, and the opening of these borders will not grow longer than two days.
