Algerian-British Forum in London: Algeria is Open for Tourism
The Algerian Embassy in London, in collaboration with the Algeria-British Business Council (ABBC), organized a forum under the theme “Algeria is open for tourism” in the presence of Algerian and British experts and travel agents.
This meeting, which opened on Monday in London on the sidelines of the International Tourism Fair, brings together the world’s tourism professionals and is an opportunity for the Director General of Handicrafts at the Ministry of Tourism, Choukri Bezarour, and the Director of the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency, Habiba Bouguerroumi, to present all aspects related to the development of this sector.
The Algerian Ambassador to London, Noureddine Yazid, who chaired the opening of this forum, laid out the basic parameters governing the renewal of this sector in Algeria in the presence of the British Prime Minister’s representative for partnership with Algeria, Lord Richard Risby, and the President of the “ABBC” Council, Olga Maitland.
In an address on the occasion, Ambassador Yazid explained that the improvement of the business climate and the incentive measures taken by the Algerian government constitute additional assets that will encourage more investments from the United Kingdom, explaining that tourism development is among Algeria’s priorities.
Ambassador Yazid explained that tourism is a key sector for economic diversification while expressing his hope that the United Kingdom and Algeria, which have historical and rich bilateral cooperation, will expand their relations to include the tourism sector, in which British professionals enjoy an exceptional global reputation.
For her part, the President of the Algerian-British Business Council (ABBC), Olga Maitland, described Algeria as a country of charming cities, citing in particular “Djanet,” which she visited and praised the efforts of the Algerian government to develop tourism and promote the Algerian destination, taking the measures that facilitate and simplify visa procedures and doubling the number of travel agencies.
