Algerian captain Yazid Mansouri: Renard will be fixed in Ramadhan

In an extensive interview with “Echorouk » the Algerian national squad captain Yazid Mansouri has declared that the World Cup is not that out of reach adding that the qualification of the “Greens” will not be a surprise.

• “The World Cup is within our reach, that’s why we have to win the two upcoming matches and don’t focus on Egypt and Zambia because our fate is between our hands”, he said.

• The coming of Yebda and Meguenni will not spoil the atmosphere.

• As to the allegations that the joining of both Yebda and Meguenni will create dissentions among the group, Yazid “  I think that both players posses a big potential and will certainly give a plus to the Algeria squad, and whoever can do it is welcomed, and do not think that their presence among us will disturb the group”.

• We’ve learnt the lesson and the scenario versus Guinea will not repeat itself

• Talking about the upcoming friendly versus Uruguay, the captain added that it was an important exam before facing Zambia. Amid fear of repeating the same mistake when the “Greens” missed their qualification to the African Cup after playing two friendly matches versus Argentina and Brazil,  Yazid Mansouri put it clear “ I don’t think that the scenario will repeat itself again, the situation is completely different this time and we have grasped the lesson”.

• Loerient midfielder went on saying that this match will be an opportunity to impart the team’s spirit in the new players prior to the upcoming official matches.

•  As to the declarations made by the Zambian coach Hervey Renard, Yazid Mansouri said “ Renard talks a lot and he made the same declarations before the away match, but we succeeded to beat Zambia and the talk about the return match will be on the pitch” … “ We fix a rendez vous to Renard during Ramadhan “ fasting month” and the show will be great at the Olympic stadium”, he went on saying.

•  Talking about his career, and whether he intended to stay in Lorient, Yazid Mansouri declared “ They ( Lorient) asked me to sign for another year but I’m studying the other offers from foreign clubs and make up my mind on due time”.
