Algerian car market not affected by the global financial crisis
The volume of car sales noticed a significant rise in the first month of 2009 compared with the same period of last year. This means that the car market in Algeria has not been affected by the world car market which knows an exceptional recession since the largest global financial crisis at the end of last century.

Statistics by the organization of the representatives of cars manufacturers in Algeria show that the increase in car sales reaches 50% for many car companies in Algeria, headed by the French, Japanese and German marks.

“Renault” is first in terms of car sales with 3615 cars in January 2009, compared to 2592 cars sold in 2008, noticing an increase of more than 30%, then “Peugeot” with 1541 cars in 2009 compared to 1056 cars sold in January 2008, over +49%.

The Japanese “Suzuki” is third ahead of many big brands with 1311 cars sold in January 2009 compared to only 266 cars sold in the same month of 2008,+400% .

The French “Dacia” which is belonging to “Renault” realized a significant number in sales with 1714 cars in January compared to 776 cars in the same period of 2008,+200%.

The Korean “Kia motors” notices an increase in sales with 200% in January 2009 with 1090 cars compared to 547 sold in 2008.

The German marks also raise their car sales with 50% such as “Volkswagen” which sold 968 cars in January 2009 compared to 633 in 2008, as well as the other German luxury brand like the “BMW”, “AUDI” and “OPEL”, in addition to “SCODA” and “SEAT”, which belong to “Volkswagen”.

“Hyundai” maintained the volume of its sales; it only sold 2790 cars in January 2009 compared to 2737 in January 2008.
