In the presence of top officials and past football glories, the Algerian squad head coach Rabah Saadane has been honoured by the local authorities of the province of Batna (eastern Algeria) at the stadium’s lobby.

  • Ancient local footballers including Melkssou, Zendri brothers and  Hammoudi Besbess among others, took part to the ceremony along with the local club’s president the staff members who hailed the coach’s achievement the national squad.
  • For his part, Rabah Saadane has overtly expressed his joy and thanked the officials for this unexpected honor because his visit to Batna was a private one as he intended to spent some time with his relatives, but was agreeably surprised by the local authorities and he couldn’t turn down the initiative despite his heavy overloaded agenda.
  • Rabah Saadane was overwhelmed by the guests’ questions concerning the national squad’s last results all over the qualifiers which were not expected at the beginning of the competition even from the coach.
  • He explained this achievement by the fact that his players’ commitment and their strong will to fill the heart of the Algerian people with happiness pending the biggest achievement at the end of the qualifiers.
  • Saadane concluded by addressing a message to the the Algerian fans which he called on them to stay behind their national team and not yield to the psychological “war” waged by the Egyptians and shift their interest to the next decisive match versus Rwanda.
