Algerian coach Saadane bets and wins

The Algerian Fennecs have retrieved their winning spirit and succeeded to wrench a precious victory over the Malian side in a decisive match where the Greens have showed a clear will to come back on track in this competition in their quality as one of the African ambassadors in the World Cup.

  •
  • Resilience made the difference
  •
  • Though slight changes have been made to the starting line-up in the match versus Mali in comparison with the first match, the Greens’ playing way has radically changed against the Malian side. The head coach Rabah Saadane scorned at some journalists after the match saying ironically” The changes we have made didn’t play part in this victory, meaning the contrary of course”.
  •
  • Undoubtedly, the Greens got into the pitch with high new spirit after suffering a severe blow versus Malawi in the first match. Some players have revealed that they have pledged to win, Amer Bouaaza said” We wanted to snatch a victory to skip the first defeat in a match played in difficult conditions, our sole goal was to struggle in order to win and come back in this competition”.
  •
  • Saadane fixed his defense
  •
  • Though he refused to lay the blame on the players for the first defeat, Rabah Saadane has noticed that the defense line didn’t play the role it was assigned for, as the duet Halliche –Zaoui were not on the same wave length. The lack of coordination between the two players caused several deficiencies in the Greens’ defense. Saadane resorted to change the strategy and assigned Halliche and Bougherra to evolve in the axis while Zaoui was put on the bench replaced by the excellent Laifaoui.
  •
  • Hassen Yebda: A star is born
  •
  • Portsmouth’s Hassen Yebda has brilliantly covered his zone in the midfield along with his teammates Karim ziani and Yazid Mansouri. He was giving precise passes all along the match and succeeded to raise the coach’s admiration gaining at the same time his confidence for the upcoming matches, especially versus Angola.
